Description
The three cornerstones of Yrjö Kukkapuro’s design philosophy are ergonomics, aesthetics and ecology. The Remmi armchair has a carefully considered, ergonomic design that supports the neck and lower back in particular. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit in, and it is suitable both as a lounge chair and as an elegant armchair for the living room.
Kukkapuro’s idea is that furniture should remain in use from one generation to the next. The chair has high-quality Kvadrat fabric upholstery. The chair’s chromed frame is made of durable steel and is manufactured by Summanen in Lahti. Every part of the Remmi, such as the metal straps and the cushions, can be easily repaired and renewed in keeping with Kukkapuro’s philosophy.
Designed in 1969, the Remmi has been selected for the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Design Museum. The chair has also been voted the world’s best chair for listening to music.
