The three cornerstones of Yrjö Kukkapuro’s design philosophy are ergonomics, aesthetics and ecology. Kukkapuro’s idea is that furniture should remain in use from one generation to the next. The Remmi ottoman has luxurious-feeling, high-quality cognac brown leather upholstery. The ottoman’s frame is made of durable steel painted matte black, and it is manufactured by Summanen in Lahti. Every add-on part of the Remmi, such as the metal straps and the cushions, can easily be repaired and renewed in keeping with Kukkapuro’s philosophy.
Designed in 1969, the Remmi has been selected for the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Design Museum. The Remmi has also been voted the world’s best chair for listening to music.
The Remmi is delivered in plastic-free cardboard packaging and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The Remmi is made in Finland.
