Description
The Saturnus table series represents the plastic period of Yrjö Kukkapuro’s 1960s design and was influenced by pop art. The small fibreglass table was originally designed for a cruise ship. For this reason the table has a small upturned edge, which prevented drinking glasses from sliding off the table if the rocking of the ship tilted the table.
The Saturnus table with a diameter of 58 cm is made entirely of fibreglass. In the larger sizes the table top is MDF board painted in the same shade as the frame, and its edge is not turned up.
