Moomin Chair Medium is a beautiful and cheerful children’s Moomin chair for Moomin fans. The chair, designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro, features the Moomin illustration familiar from Tove Jansson’s Moomin comic strip “Snorkmaiden Goes Rococo”, printed on both sides of the chair’s backrest and on the seat.
The high-quality and timeless Moomin chair is best suited to school-age children. There is also room for an adult to sit in the chair, for example to read a bedtime story.
The chair is part of the Moomin Furniture range, designed by Modeo and Studio Kukkapuro. The chair’s material is certified birch plywood, which according to Yrjö Kukkapuro is “the most lovable material in the world”. The surface of the plywood is laminated and withstands wear well. The chair is made in Finland and has been awarded the Finnish Key Flag certificate and the Design from Finland mark.
The chair is intended for all kinds of sitting, and its ergonomics have been adapted with working, crafts and dining in mind. The chair’s seat angle is extremely comfortable, stable and safe. The chair’s laminated plywood surface is pleasant and, for example, does not build up static electricity in centrally heated conditions.
The Moomin chair’s durable laminate coating stays clean with basic cleaning. Use ordinary household cleaning sprays or a damp cloth for cleaning. The chair withstands use even under a canopy on a balcony, but not in direct rain. If necessary, the chair’s surfaces can be cleaned with a liquid abrasive cleaner, for example when coloured pencil marks appear on the surface.
The product’s packaging is portable and compact. Package dimensions: height 49 cm, width 67 cm and depth 14 cm. The product is easy to assemble and disassemble yourself. The product is delivered in parts and comes with assembly instructions.
